Wow what a way to kick off the season.

We would first like to thank Flag Fen Archeological centre in Peterborough for inviting us to take part in the Flag Fen Viking festival. We had an amazing time and the response we got from our visiting guests was so positive.

We kicked off the weekend with some drumming and incense burning and as it was a living history weekend we set out our smaller tent in a way that showed how the Völvas may have lived and traveled. We had written descriptions of our tools, altar and clothing.

Everyone who came into our tent showed interest and had lots of questions which we were able to answer, the children showed a particular interest in our herb section and in our ritual drums and rattles, Jenna had lots of fun teaching the kids and showing them the smelly herbs!

We were selling our crafts and ritual items, all of them made by Jenna, myself and our blacksmith. Selling items that we have put so much energy in to making and seeing the smiles on the buyers face was such a nice feeling. The feedback we have received and the emails you have sent mean more than you will ever know.

We performed a ritual for a guest who asked for our help and with her permission some of the visitors stayed around to watch it. It viewed with fascination and respectful silence. We know that these things can be a little daunting to people who have never seen them before but in this instance it created a chance for people to ask questions about our practice.

We spoke of the sagas and the God's and Goddesses and educated a few people who had only ever heard Marvels side of the story, a few shocked faces were witnessed!

Several reenactors visited the tent and were thankful to sit at the alter, something that they seldom get to do.
